Diving into Web Development
How organizing a workspace and learning the first VS Code habits built confidence for the rest of the journey.
When I first started learning HTML and CSS, I was excited but also a little overwhelmed. The first thing I had to grasp was Visual Studio Code (VS Code), the tool where all my web ideas would come to life.
Learning VS Code was not just about opening a text editor, it was about understanding how to organize my workspace efficiently. I quickly discovered the importance of creating a project folder for every website I worked on, keeping my HTML, CSS and assets neatly arranged. This simple habit saved me from confusion later, especially as my projects grew larger.
I also learned how to create new files, name them properly and link CSS files to HTML files. It might seem basic, but these steps built the foundation for my coding journey. By arranging folders logically, I could focus on learning code instead of getting lost in a messy directory.
Looking back, mastering these first steps gave me the confidence to dive deeper into web development. If you are just starting out, always remember that a well organized workspace is the first key to becoming a great developer.
